Set in London in the year 1939, Ms. Guinevere Pettigrew is a middle-aged governess who has found herself unfairly dismissed once again from her job. Then, she realizes for the first time that she has to seize the day. She did it by going for an employment outside of her comfort zone – as a “social secretary”. She is then thrown into the dizzying and glamorous world of the American singer and actress, Delysia Lafosse.

Ms. Pettigrew then finds herself being swept into the high-society milieu – and within hours, started to live it up. Taking her new job to heart, she tries to help Delysia navigate a career and love life at the same time.
