In the film, Tom Hanks plays the role of Charlie Wilson, a womanizing US congressman from Texas who is also a hard partier and a merciless customer. He also made America to win in the cold war. Charlie Wilson’s War shows how he, together with the ever gorgeous socialite Joanne Herring (played by the ever stunning Julia Roberts) and CIA Agent Gust Avrakotos helped in the Afghan war effort against the Soviets. The movie also stars Phillip Seymour Hoffman and Amy Adams. The story was written by Aaron Borkin and Directed by Mike Nichols. This movie also helped Tom Hanks recover from his last.. erm.. crappy movie.
