Yes, it’s another movie about a maniacal super-villain who’s hell-bent on taking over the world. But this particular movie is probably something we’ve all been missing and nostalgic about: GI Joe.

Based on the classic 80’s cartoon about a group of elite US soldiers who battle terrorist organization COBRA, GI Joe: The Rise of the Cobra tackles the history of the team and the rise of the COBRA organization and its enigmatic leader, Cobra Commander. The movie’s creators have decided though to put the story in a futuristic America, so as not to raise any issues with America’s ongoing war on terror and continuing military campaigns in Afghanistan and Iraq. Several of the more recognizable and popular characters in the cartoons will have their big screen counterparts such as Snake Eyes and Destro.
